Brandy is an ethnographic and user researcher and videographer who sees meaningful patterns in everyday behaviors, challenging clients to look beyond the surface to uncover resonant design solutions.
She has led global and domestic research efforts across a wide range of sectors including education, technology, privacy, healthcare, and the future of knowledge work. Her love for creative connections has driven her to collaborate with designers, software engineers, and even chemists to translate user research into powerful actionable outcomes for clients. Brandy believes empathy is not just a design research tenet, but a philosophy of living.
Brandy is the founder and proprietor of Pastoralist, where she writes and conducts workshops on food preservation, woodworking, and mindful living. She holds degrees in psychology and English from Wellesley.
